Surreal Assemble! (2022) is an exhibition of original works created by the current class of BA Level 1 Design Communication students.
Each artefact showcases the participant's interpretation of a surreal text, encompassing witty responses via a self-created assemblage and branding funny using illustration and designing with type.
This project communicates the interpretation of the prompt "Italian grasshopper Onsen Dipping". Focuses to fusion two different cultures; Japanese and Italian, The Italian characteristics are emphasized through the use of the dramatic mustache while the Japanese characteristics can be prominently seen in the use of a traditional headband as well as the Onsen tub itself.
